About the Event

In celebration of light rail arrive to the City of Lynnwood on Friday, August 30, Sound Transit is partnering with the Lynnwood Chamber of Commerce and Snohomish County Transportation Coalition (Snotrac) to produce an evening community event at the Lynnwood City Center Light Rail Station on Friday, August 30 from 4 to 8 p.m.

August 30 is the first day light rail will operate from Seattle into Snohomish County.  With more than 30,000 people anticipated to ride light rail to Lynnwood on the first day of operation, the evening celebration may be one of the largest in the City of Lynnwood’s history.

To meet the importance and scale of this momentous occasion, Snotrac and Lynnwood Chamber have outlined a major event with up to 165 organizations, agencies, and vendors, including:

  • Live Music Main Stage
  • Future of Lynnwood Pavilion
  • Cultural Pavilion featuring music and dance
  • Night Market of Arts, Crafts, and Produce
  • Family Fun Zone
  • Community Resource Fair
  • Commercial Booths
  • Food Trucks

Snotrac and the Lynnwood Chamber will partner with the Asian Service Center for the creation of the Cultural Pavilion, which will feature booths dedicated to multiple cultural organizations surrounding a large tent for music & dance performance & participation.

The organizations will also collaborate with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Snohomish County to produce a Family Fun Zone with multiple interactive games & activities.

This one-day event will correspond with the official Lynnwood Light Rail Station Grand Opening on Friday, August 30, with performances, activities, and vendor booths open from 4 to 8 p.m.

Agencies, organizations, and vendors who wish to have booths at the event should complete our expression of interest to participate form.

If you'd like to volunteer, complete our volunteer sign-up form.
